Tonight was the single best team performance of the season for Owosso, giving the team a late 3-2 edge over Fowlerville. After going down 0-2 at halftime, the team regrouped, with a renewed focus on physicality, spacing, and defensive composure. There were many moments in the first half in which we stabbed at the ball and let our opponents make easy sideline passes. We played well in the first half, but the second half was simply a solid, physical match up of two teams with District wins on their minds.

Every Owosso player stepped up for their teammates, fighting tooth and nail to get crucial second half goals. Led by Claudia Drake and Jillian Klaver, our back line stepped up once again. Leah Miller and Brieanna Wood controlled the center, setting our team up for more late shooting opportunities. 

*Upon receiving a ball from Alaynie Drury, Alana Dotts dribbled through defenders to nab our first goal (69:00). 
*Dotts scored her second goal off a cross from Rorie Babcock (72:24)
*As both teams continued battling for go-ahead goal, Drury made a late pass to Brooklyn Fields, who was quickly tackled inside the penalty box. With only 1:10 left in the game (78:50), Brieanna Wood scored a late penalty kick, putting the team ahead 3-2. This was one of the most exciting late game finishes I have experienced throughout my entire coaching career. 

We are so proud of the resiliency, positivity, and determination this team continues to show. Hard work definitely paid off, tonight. We have certainly seen our fair share of ups and downs this season, but this team has proudly taken on adversity every step of the way. They continue to inspire one another to rise to the top. This was on well-deserved team victory. Go Trojans!
