Lily Usher took over the well-deserved honors of All-time MHSAA Girls' Soccer Career Saves Leader, passing the previous record of 713 saves. Tonight's 6 saves brought her career total to an unprecedented 717 saves. Her teammates embraced her and the crowd cheered her on after she parried her 714th save wide of the goal, out of bounds. In typical Usher fashion, she made a solid dive to the lower corner, saving our team yet again. We are so proud of her hard to reach this amazing milestone, and are thankful for the dedication and memories shown by our Seniors throughout the years. 

Tonight's 0-3 scoreline does not give justice to our team's quality of play. We played a physical game and put together some of our best passing combinations of the season. We had numerous near breakaway opportunities which were quelled just before taking shots. Two of Holly's goals resulted from quick breakdowns in the box, while one came from a penalty kick. Their second goal resulted from an awarded penalty kick. The Owosso player was pulled down by the jersey by the Holly player in the box, but the PK anyway. 

Our fullbacks, Mallory Dennis, Grace Perry, Samantha Harris, and Olivia Savage, continue step up. center midfielders, Leah Miller, Kara Yerrick, and Sophie Brown, battled for the ball all game and gave our forwards numerous scoring opportunities.

Tonight's loss had a definite effect on the team since we knew were fully capable of bringing home a victory. We will regroup for Friday's game against Birch Run.
